How Should I Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator to Search for Prospects?

Find out what search features on Sales Navigator that even the best SDRs might have overlooked, and find better prospects faster.

We asked our Senior SDR Sebastian Sanders what search features on Linkedin Sales Navigator that even the best SDRs might have overlooked. Here’s what he said –

We all know how to use Sales Navigator’s many search filters.

But tons of SDRs overlook the value of using keywords in the search feature.

Using the basics, such as job titles, is a given. But there’s a whole host of other useful ways to use keywords when searching for new prospects.

Try Boolean search tactics to help refine your prospect list.

Boolean search involves using the words AND, or, and NOT to help narrow results. For example:

  • Sales NOT manager – Will produce results for those in sales but will exclude sales managers
  • Sales OR manager – Will produce results for those in sales and sales managers
  • Sales AND director – Will produce results that help you target leads that match 2 or more different search criterion (in this case, both sales and directors)

Remember, when using the words AND, OR, and NOT in the LinkedIn Sales Navigator search, they must be capitalized.

You can also see prospects in your search that are active on LinkedIn, or even those that already follow your company.

Once you’ve identified active prospects, use Sales Navigator’s Team Link feature to view how many of your advanced search results are connected to you via your team.

This feature gives you the option of seeing how many warm introductions you can access via your team members.
